Doesn't sound so terrible to me. I remember a few years ago the dance comps I used to do over the June long weekend in Perth had so many sections that they would've worked better to hold them over a week or two. But this comp only went over the long weekend - supposedly Friday night thru Sunday night. But so many sections and so many entrants that ended up starting Wednesday night of the week the long weekend was to start and finished Sunday and still do to this day. Every session started at 8am and continued right through until whenever the night session finished, which, if there were a lot of competitors in a section, could be as late as midnight or later. For the girls who danced in a lot of sections, they practically moved in and slept on the stage Wednesday-Sunday cos they were practically living there anyway. Your 6:30am starts don't surprise me at all. These things can be hell to organise, especially when entrants exceed expectations and judges/adjudicators are hard to get. --Previous Message-- : There is NO WAY they would start at 6.30!!
