This is true. There is a large patch of floating plastic trash twice the size of texas, 1000 miles off of Hawaii and San Francisco.

Next time I see a small piece of rubish or plastic bag on the beach, I'll try to make sure it doesn't run off into the ocean. ainokea if I look funny picking it up. Spread the word.
