One day last week was the first time I used my new Custom Ballistics Cross-Breed Bodyboard. It was an okay day at Makapuu, but nothing special. But yesterday was my second day; the waves were fairly decent and I was able to really test-drive my awesome new board. I had gotten so used to my old Ballistics bodyboard which is probably 3-4 years old. It has been a great board and I have ridden many, many different waves all over the island with it. But it was old and time to move on to the new board.
The new board is fast . . . It is great on the late takeoffs being stiffer and lighter and with holds an edge when I am cutting across nice vertical walls at Makapuu . . . something I was slowly losing with my older board as it was becoming a sluggish sponge with old age. The new board is very responsive and very fast, and quick on the turns. The upturned nose is definitely a plus along with the wrap-around skin on the rails which other riders immediately noticed. The board feels solid like one piece, an extension of my own body. I am sold on the design and shape of the board with the original look of my older custom Ballistics boards.
The new board can take a beating . . . I ate it on a hard bottom turn after a mean late takeoff on a bomber at Generals that turned into a wicked pearl dive. It was a steep drop on an outside freak set and I thought I might have broken my new board in two as I ride d-knee. But NO damage and the new board has already passed the stress test. This is my 4th Ballistics board and definitely the BEST. I'm a big boy and I have ridden many other brand boards and have actually broken them in two with my style of riding as I subject them to major stress. Custom Ballistics CrossBreed Bodyboards are the very best.
Mahalos, Carlos, for the great ride! See you at Maks!
