Posted by Linda Steele on 4/28/2006, 12:06 pm It happened on the 13th March 2006. On 25th April I give birth to a crysalis (can't say maggot !!) the next day one was squeezed out of the other whole. I knew something was wrong, as my little bites were not healing up. It was in week five that I felt the sharp pain. It was as if the wounds were trying to heal - but so dry, they hurt as they tried to close. Now I realise the pain was the larvae moving about. I saw a little bubble of blood move up and down, I thought it was my pulse. Awful, but I know now it was the larvae coming up for air. The nurse at our local practice has covered the bites up with a dressing that draws out foreign bodies. I'm sure I can feel something else in the holes, but at this hour am scared to lift the sticky cover and peep. I've heard these larvae sometimes are twins..., When I am brave, perhaps tomorrow - I'll have a look. Thanks for your interesting articles on the Bot Fly. Mark's was fascinating. Regards
