Hi, Martin Gore is the song writer of Depeche Mode and on each LP he usually sings a track or two. It's a popular misconception that Dave Gahan, the "front man" is the writer, as Gore normally keeps a very low profile in comparison to Gahan's, public displays of nihilism.
In the late 1980's Gore recorded a solo - ep of cover versions: Durrutti Column, Sparks, trad. english, and 3 others whose titles escape me.
The new recordings are of; Nick cave, David essex, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed etc.
I expect it's going to be quite melancholic.
