So another dismal refereeing display has Satn's hackles rising. We seem to pick up bookings in numbers these days. Taylor seems to get his for persistent fouls yet I cannot believe that he is the sinner never sinned against. The number of times the opposition defenders obstruct or hang on to his shirt never seems to be recognised or the sly knee into the back of the thigh just as the ball is awaited. It isn't till you sit close to the edge of the pitch that this becomes obvious. Yes sometimes Taylor seeks an unfair advantage and rightly gets found out, but refs seem to be favouring the defenders and goalies. The assistant on the touch line in line with the play need to do more to support good decision making but are often not quite up with play, to be able to do this. All the oppsition player needs to do is fall over as the ball arrives in the air and the ref sees it as an infringement. I think I'm correct in assuming that you can't argue against a booking at the FA but it is about time that reports on refs from the rep in the stands was published independently, so that fans can see whether or not justice was served on the pitch. It strikes me that the observers are too closely linked to the refs for real fair judgement to be recorded. Any thoughts ? Some clubs seem to manage hardly any bookings and I for one have never considered Burnley as a dirty team even if toothpick likes to hide behind that claim. Have we got ourselves a reputation that refs look out for?
