Well in spite of the so called clarification I think the offside law has sunk to a new low of interpretation. The Bolton goal in mid week was a complete nonsense. How can two players of the opposing side be so close to goal run back "onside " and not be interfering with play or distracting the keeper etc. I think the "old" fashioned interpretation of the law was much better. The linesman needs to see daylight between the players that way they can be absolutely sure a player is offside and seeking to gain a benefit and like Cloughie used to say if a player's on the pitch and not interfering with play he shouldn't be on the pitch !!!!
Thoughts anyone?
