Thinking about this with our doctor - one idea we considered was that the body was just loving the GSH and using it. There is a notion that the blood will rob from the organs to get itself to the right "formula" - we talked about the blood now allowing the organs to have the GSH to themselves as there was "enough." Once in the middle normal range we saw a big general health improvement. That being said every body is different - you may want to do some testing. I think the GSH test is under $50? (Amscot in Cinncinati) I know from talking with Dr. Guilford that it seems like adults top out at 1 teaspoon as a daily maintenance - note that probably most of the adult patients are not CF patients - but maybe once you get to some kind of "normal" range from being depleted you see the benefit. And then each person has there own needs and depletion level so it may take more or less time & GSH to get to normal. Keeping the same ratio as our personal experience -- 105mg :600mg = lipo:caps ; then 1 teaspoon of lipo 422mg is like 2500mg of Thera caps. So not quite a normal adult level in terms of Dr. B. but also -- that is just oral... I haven't done the cost analysis. But it is convenient to have options. Since you can do lipo once, it may help on busy days to keep with the GSH protocol...

For us - We tested our child's GSH level on Theranaturals GSH then made the switch to Liposomal 1/4 teaspoon and tested GSH again (giving 6-8 weeks). The GSH numbers were very close - so for that experiment about 600 mg. of Thera. GSH caps gave the same GSH (red blood cell) level as ~105 mg of lipo GSH. There are 422 mg. per lipo GSH teaspoon.
Incidentally - the GSH level after having been on GSH was barely in the normal range - so we doubled up to 1/2 teaspoon. With that we got the big weight gain results. I don't remember the exact numbers but it was something like --- the GSH normal testing range is 200-400. on the 30 mg /lb and later on the 1/4 t. lipo GSH we were at about 210. Doubling the lipo dose brought the level up to about 270.
Am I making sense!? I am not giving any advice! just thinking out loud and sharing what happened to us. I would love to know if anyone noticed anything else.
