Yes, you can boil it and refrigerate it up to 6 hours. The issue here is growth of PA. PA is a water-loving organism, and ANY standing water (unless vacuum sealed) will begin to grow an appreciable amount of PA after 6 hours. That's why CF people never have birdbaths in their backyard!! We boil it, shove the little pot in the freezer to cool it down, and then use it. Then we can use the remainder up to 6 hours later.
