NAC does it need to be disolved?

Does the NAC pills need to be disolved in water to be the most effective? Our 2 year old can take capsules so I have been giving them to her. However, I just heard maybe that is not the best way. Are there any definitive answers or research that supports this idea?
Thank you once again for bearing with me and all of my questions. I am very greatful for the help.
