Posted by Julie I'm sorry I don't post very much. We are just so darn busy. I work full time and with 2 boys in lots of activities, it's hard to keep up. The only problem John has right now is his weight gain has slowed down a bit. But honestly, I think he would have an easier time gaining weight if he would slow down every once in a while. John's energy is incredible, so between baseball, going to the pool, and playing with friends in the backyard, this kid burns a lot of calories. Not to mention he is never, ever still. Even when he is watching TV, he is either pile driving his big stuffed teddy bear or throwing a bean bag ball up against the back of the couch. I can probably fix the weight gain issue if I throw in a few higher calorie snacks. John's favorite snacks are pretzels and grapes, so I'll just have to stand my ground and insist he snack on something a little more substantial. John has been on GSH for 4 years now and I am currently working on a more detailed account of what GSH has done for him to post on the stories board. But for now I gotta go...my older son has a swim meet tonight! Julie

Hello Carrie,
I am happy to report that John is doing extremely well. We got talked into joining a USSSA baseball team to play in a few tournaments this summer and we just played in our first tournament this past weekend. John played 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday, 3 of the games were in 90+ degree heat. Didn't faze him one bit. Down to the last inning of the last game, John was still full of energy, running full steam to and from the dugout. No one on the team knows John has CF and no one suspects anything is wrong with him. The exertion does not make him cough. He does get those salt crystals, but as far as I know, no one has ever noticed.
