Posted by Denise I had absences in the high 30's for kindergarten and first grade (no - I don't remember but I still have my report cards!). After that, nothing too excessive. It wasn't until my first semester in college that I got my first lung infection - that is when my CF cough started. I plan to be a mom with CF in the next few years and I will most likely keep my little ones home until kindergarten to protect myself from germs they may acquire in day care or preschool. After that - I'll get a bubble for myself - ha!

I didn't start school until kindergarten. My mom kept me home because she didn't want to risk the germs (this was back in the late 70's). In kindergarten - 12th grade, if I got sick, I had to have a day with absolutely no fever or any symptoms before I went back to school. Basically, one healthy day at home before she "threw me back in". ;o)
