I was reading my local rag here and saw that Mehlville fire fighters local 1889 was kind enough to contribute $3000 to Mr. dooley.
I thought about that. I remember that last year I met a 1889 member outside of my local poling place. He was stumping for a candidate to replace a board member his union didn't like. He told me how that board member was one of a small group that was cutting pay and such. I told him that I understood as the county executive had no care about the police department. I told him our pay sucks and isn't getting any better. I told him how much I make.
He was shocked. Two things he said suprised me. First he said "but he is a democrat. he is for the working man." I told him that he is for the working man unless that man works for him. Then he said he thought police made as much as him. I told him the truth.
He is not the first 1889 member I have told this stuff to. Now they give thousands to dooley.
Hey 1889. I will remember that. Go F"*k off. Please approach any county officer and have the the balls to tell him/her your union did that.
I will remember that.
