I think generating controversy and shining a light on problems is great. That is part of the job of a journalist. But it needs to be factual and not dreamed up at a producer's meeting where revenue is the prime consideration.
How about when he stated Obama was a racist that hated whites? Do YOU believe that to be the case?
He also said that the H1N1 vaccine may be deadly. He had no evidence. It was like saying that aspirin may kill you. Where's the proof? Just more fear mongering.
Recently Glenn Beck said a television industry effort to promote volunteerism and service is somehow part of a communist plot by the Obama administration to stamp out capitalism and The American Way of Life. Didn't a former president promote a program that mentioned 50,000 points of light? A reference to people helping folks in their own community.
How about when he said Health Care reform was a form of reparations? Yeah tell that to the 77% of Americans that favor Health Care reform. They may not want a fully socialized version, but they want, and I think most of us agree, a better, more equitable and patient friendly overhaul.
I'd wager that Beck likes Obama, but knows damn well he can get more viewers by appealing to the hatred of those with the "Plantation Mentality".
I vote for the candidate. not the party and I consider myself a fundamental Libertarian. To have a pot-head drunk like Beck come out and speak for me is an insult to all free thinkers.
His agenda is merely to agitate and draw viewers, and thus increase his income. He is no different from the Obermans, Maddows, Limbaughs and other assorted clowns that cloud public information with falsehoods and innuendo.
Sadly the source from which Americans get their information has devolved to actors reading crap intended to attract a narrow band of viewer.
