Great Tips Mia.
A few other tips if I may, Shop the outside Isles. That is where all the fresh Healthy food is. Make a Menu each week and stick to it. Buy only what is on that Menu. Not only will it keep you on track with what you eat, It will help with the Groc. Budget.
Try to leave the Kids at home when you shop. What they dont see they dont want.
And just because it says fat free dosnt mean its free of producing fat. Watch the sugar grams and sodium. And try to stay clear of the Deli and Bakery. Try not to shop when your hungery.
Get label Smart. If I am not with Mike when he is shopping He calls me and reads the label to me.
My Doctor told me that if my tummy is grumbling it dosent always mean it humgry sometimes it is telling me I need water. And He told me Portion Control.
So Here is to healthy Planning and Living.
Love you all

: Marvy is so right when she says that eating
: Junk food is like feeding our bodies with
: garbage... So true!! I am pretty sure it is
: easier to diet when you don't have a family
: to take care of and who needs dinner on the
: table each day... If that is a problem for
: you, try to make new arrangements so you
: don't mess up with your diet. Ask your
: husband too cook, if the children are old
: enough, maybe they can prepare the meal
: sometime...Like I said in a previous post,
: it is important to plan your meals when it's
: time to start eating real food. I also think
: it is important to involve the whole family
: in the new way of eating... If we don't want
: to feed ourselves with Junk, we should not
: offer it to the rest of the family either!!!
: I'm stunned when I see a mom or dad eating a
: salad, but the kids are having hamburgers,
: pizza and fatty snack... No wonder obesity
: is a huge problem even among young kids!!
: When we go to the grocery store, we have a
: choice. We can buy healthy food or not so
: healthy... If we bring home fatty, unhealthy
: food, someone will eat it, maybe it is even
: you... Remember that you can't eat what's
: NOT in your house!!
:
: Think about the snacking... There are lots
: of delicious but fatty snacks and it's easy
: to get access to it - and we do buy it when
: we start feeling hungry... My advice is to
: always have some healthy snack in your
: handbag. I always have a fruit, some nuts
: (with no salt or oil, and not a whole bag, I
: put some in a small box, or I will eat too
: much) and a low-cal bar in my handbag...
: It's a perfect way of snacking during the
: day and it keeps the amount of cals down!!
: Try it, you will get used to it... An apple
: is way better than a big muffin or a bag of
: chips!! Enjoy!
:
: Good luck!! Mia.
