I tried that last time. It didn't work for me. I just got too hungry when I wasn't in ketosis and just when I was back in... it was almost time to eat food again.... vicious cycle. I don't think your system will make you stay on vlcd if you learn your mistakes in your old pattern and you learn a new way to eat. When you get to your goal or after you have ss'd for a while you add back one meal at a time. But... everyone has to do what is right for them. I didn't gain when we went to NY city and I ate a very large amount of pizza from Lombardi's. However... I suffered for 4 days before I was back in ketosis and I was hungrier that I ever am during the day (I usually only eat one meal a day... never get hungry during the day when not on cambridge). The first few weeks of ssing were hard. I wanted to eat even when I wasn't hungry... but now... I don't get hungry and I don't ever just want to eat for no reason...so I am happy. NOW.... a couple of times I have gotten really stressed and eaten (2 bags of m&ms... idividual portion bags not lbers... but still... it wasn't good). Anyway... you'll figure out what works for you.
