Hi hi, dragonfly! (that rhymes) What the heck? I guess you are doing a little walking? I don't lose weight EVER, no matter how low my caloric intake, unless I walk a half hour--even just a perky stroll.
I'm sure, also, that you are keeping in mind just how many changes you are making for your body. (Not only dieting, but the other things you are chinging.) It sometimes takes awhile for the body to take you seriously.
I love Covert Bailey, the author of "Fit or Fat". (He's a biochemist.) He says that a person has to walk for six weeks for the fat loss to kick in.
He says that the enzyme on the fat cell is either a fat releaser or fat retainer; and that for the enzyme production (the chemistry) to actually change from retainer to releaser, the body has to know there is what it considers a LONG-TERM CHANGE going on, to adapt to.
Then, the fat cells start producing an enzyme that allows for fat release from the cells. Otherwise, the body is, in essence, "calling your bluff," and hanging on to the fat to get you through what it thinks is probably short-term stress.
The plateaus are the same thing. So, when it finally produces the right enzyme, the fat just melts off for a while.
Anyway, I liked his line of reasoning, and he had biochemical research to back it up. So it helped me get through the plateaus.
I know you don't need help when it comes to keeping your hopes up--you are awesomely strong and positive! But, I think I would need a few logical reasons for the slow time, just to get me through and be patient. So I gave you what I use.
