Yes there are here too but apparently they taste awful. I intend making my own bread in my breadmaker - well using it to mix the dough then baking the bread in a proper oven. I love cooking, so it will be good to do it. x --Previous Message-- : I don't know if it's the same in the UK but : there are a lot of wheat free products here : that you can buy at speciality stores : including pizza, bread etc... : : --Previous Message-- : That is why I started CD in the first place. : : Yes I needed to lose weight but I also had a : problem trying not to eat bread! : : So CD answered a lot of prayers. It enabled : me to go wheat-free. I was badly anaemic and : had been in hospital needing 6 pints of : blood. My blood count went back to normal : within 6 weeks of coming off wheat and has : stayed up ever since. : : So it is a big learning curve for me when I : go back to eating food, since everything has : to be wheat-free. I need to make all my : meals from scratch, which isn't a problem : just a necessity. : : It means I can never go out and have : pizza/pasta/bread/pies or anything else!! : Should help keep me under control. We shall : see ......... : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Hi Ann, wow that must be tough being wheat : intolerant you have to get all sorts of : special food since almost everything has : wheat in it, I know that because I tried a : gluten free diet on my son a while back : (which really didn't work)not because he is : intolerant but because there were all these : studies of how helpful gluten free diets are : for autistic kids at least 50% of them, not : my boy!! I haven't made the cookies yet : it's today's project, I WILL resist : hahahaha. Hugs. Sandra : : --Previous Message-- : No not really Sandra - I am wheat intolerant : so can't have the Christmas cake or : puddings! : : I am waiting for some special flours to : arrive so that I can make a wheat-free fruit : cake - coconut flour/tapioca flour/rice : flour/potato flour with some special xanthan : gum to replace the starch. Should be fun. : Will see how it turns out. : : Be good x : : : : : --Previous Message-- : My goodness Ann you have will power of steel : lady...send some my way since I'm baking : tomorrow 250 cookies....and they can't be : 249 at the end hahaha. Love Sandra : : --Previous Message-- : We have been making Christmas cakes and : Christmas puddings. : : Then we began decorating the bedroom. Did : all the prep and the first coat of paint. : Starting to look good! : : Sticking to the diet like glue. : : Got a few special evenings out coming up but : am going to stick with low-carb. : : Hope everyone is being good x : : : : : : : : : : :
