The country of orgin has been working toward a 'vision' of the mastino that is well represented by many breeders today both in Italy and around the world. If you are looking for a 'Dry' and Athletic mastino, then I believe you have two options: 1) Select a pup from a litter that has the least amount of wrinkle, but still has solid body construction. It may be the case that the modern mastino is not the style you prefer and therefore you may need to consider an alternative breed. I can assure you that the Mastino in Italy have tremendous wrinkle and are not what you would call Athletic Good Luck Randy
Hello Toromastiffs,
2) Consider the Cane Corso as a potiental breed for your purposes.![]()
