Hi There. My friend is a Permanent Resident of Canada (landed immigrant) but still a Colombian citizen. The cheapest flights back to Canada all have plane changes in the US. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a transit visa for the US? We came to Mexico after holidaying in Colombia, and he was able to come to Mexico using only his Permanent Resident card instead of getting a Visa. We phoned the US consulate in PV and they suggested we go to guadalaraja for a visa. Neglected to ask the length of the process though. Anyone here have any idea? He's gotten a visa from the US before if that makes a difference. We just want the easiest AND cheapest route back home (that's all!) Cheers and thanks.
