There was a general discussion on how to spend the monies obtained from the Feb. 10th/08 Thomas Bartlett Fundraiser. A general principle established is that funding will not go towards anything that the Government is responsible for providing for our cities. Many good ideas were presented from the members. Each Committee was also asked to prepare a budget submission. A final decision on the budget will be made at the next meeting. Thomas Bartlett has agreed to host a 2nd Annual Event for the purpose of raising money for Los Amigos Projects. Promotion of the event will begin shortly. A Mexican Fiesta is also being planned to promote Los Amigos and to provide an opportunity for the national and international communities to get together. Recipes are still being accepted for the Los Amigos Cook Book. Security Signs, in Spanish, are being prepared for sale Johan Neilson has accepted the position of temporary chairman of the Recycling Committee while Joyce Vanderstaak is away. Their next meeting is April 16th at 7pm at the Xaltemba Galeria and all are welcome to attend. The program will be phased in. The first pick-up will be on April 11.
