Thanks JBay Folk for participating.
Please suspend participating in that poll.
Although this is very nerdy stuff, it is of interest to me.
Twice as many people could not see a difference.
I did just now figure out a fix. Now, no one should be able to see a difference.
What I do not know about html could fill a book. But for Jared and others who might be interested...
This was my process: I copied the html code for Ruth's box and pasted it back in. This produced an additional link box duplicating Ruth's. They were identical, including the color of the text. Then I edited the text in the new box to be "Los Amigos de La Peņita" and also edited the url so that the Amigos site would be linked. When I viewed the result, the color of the text was now different from the rest (although this was not apparent to 2/3's of the poll takers).
So I deleted the new box and started over. Once again, I copied Ruth's box and reinserted it. Checking the result, I once again had two identical Ruth boxes.
This time, I only edited the url, then checked the result. Wow. The new box text still had the same text as the original Ruth box but now it was again the slightly different shade of color.
I could not understand why, but at least now, I had a clue. I went ahead and edited the new text to read Los Amigos de La Peņita and of course, to me and some others, it still appeared to be a different color. I decided to leave it alone, call it a night and make a poll to see how many could see a difference.
This morning, I was up at 4am, made a pot of mud and took another look. Of course, I did have that one clue. I was looking for something that was different about the urls. (Jared had not been able to see anything in my code that would make that text look different to me, and in fact, he could not see a difference.)
I finally did spot the difference. The url for the Amigos site did not have html as the last part of the address. All the others did. So I edited that onto the url for the Amigos link.... and what do you know? The result was that the text now matches all the rest.
Why? I have no idea.
Being retired is a good thing.
