Tonala and transportation

Hola: I am flying to PV then need to meet my daughter at the Guadalajara airport. We want to go to Tonala then La Penita, and eventually fly out of PV. We probably will stay in Tlaquepaque a couple nights. Can anyone tell me if bus transportation and taxi for this trip is convenient re: time and cost? Or would you recommend just renting a car from PV?--I don't like to drive Hwy 200 if I don't have to. Thanks for any info.
