To the Angels among you: Ja’Qui has been freed at last. She is recovering under medical care so, unfortunately, the celebratory party will have to come later. Thank you, thank you, and thank you all for your support. Every one of you will be remembered for your love, kindness and generosity during this difficult time. You’ve brought her food, clothing, smiles, laughter, along with many other generosities and most of all hope! A simple “thank you” just isn’t enough to say what it has all meant to Ja’Qui. Her tears of joy and appreciation for the hearts that touched hers were overwhelming. You gave with unconditional love, compassion, and unquestioning generosity to a valued member of our community who has herself been a selfless giver. Your response has been amazing: Ja’Quis release came less than a week after the initial email request went out! You truly are the Angels! Ja’Qui was seen by her Doctor upon her release. Primarily she needs rest and some time to process this whole ordeal. Please be patient during her recovery. Soon, she’ll be able to communicate with you directly. The bail itself was enormous, set by the complainant. Attempting to raise that amount would have been impossible, so we approached it from another direction; then the amount needed was to pay a Bail Bondsman his non-refundable fee of $70,000 pesos. Thanks to all of you this was accomplished. Now it will be possible to focus on helping Ja’Qui regain her health and, once that is on track, there will be time to provide a full accounting of the donations received and pledged. Thank you for your patience. To her friends, the only thing that matters is that she is free, she is home and she can begin to recuperate.
