Working in Guayabitos

I've been trying to find information for the past couple of months about working in Mexico (I'm moving to Guayabitos in October) - so far, I've discovered you must apply for a working visa/permit once you're in the country, and that it's very hard to find jobs there, especially if you're a "landed immigrant." This is a worry for me because I'd like to spend a year in Guayabitos before coming back to Canada to start my Undergraduate degree, so I would need more than a (max.) 6-month tourist visa.

I was curious if anyone would be able to tell me if they have any suggestions about jobs to look at in Guayabitos, that would be suitable for someone learning Spanish and fluent in English. I've emailed the Decameron Los Cocos resort (I do have hotel experience), and I was thinking something to do with children might be of interest, as they might be able to help me with my Spanish!

Also, does anyone know how to apply for a working visa once I have a job and am settled in Mexico?

I'm having a lot of trouble finding answers to these questions, so any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)
