You're absolutely right, Tom--Garza Canela is one of the best restaurants we've ever experienced anywhere. Tastefully furnished, excellent service, great food--it's hard not to overdo my recommendation. The hotel is nice also, but the restaurant excells. San Blas is buggy, which makes for very good birding, but you should be sure to not be outside at dusk (although hustling from restaurant to car is OK). The town is a lot of fun--dusty, noisy, bustling, and muy tipica. Nice beaches, too. N.
