thank you again, allyson, for helping me with this. just based on the location of tepic, i have every reason to believe they will be the right seeds, and even if they are not it will not decrease the appreciation i have, that you, a complete stranger, would be so readily willing to help. it really means a lot to me. if you wont take anything in return, then the next time we are down there, if we make it over to nayarit again, we will be giving you our business rather than any of the other hotels. and i will probably bring you some seeds anyway :)
my grandfather grew them mostly to sell at the market, but those that they kept for themselves, from what my dad says, went into everything from salsa to soups to simply roasted and eaten with a tortilla. he says they were best that way.
be sure to tell your guests that i appreciate their help as well and that i wish them a safe trip.
