My wife and I stayed there last winter and we reserved a room for this winter. For what you pay, I think it's great.

The room is nothing special. Sometimes there's no hot water, and little pressure...no big deal. I think there was a day when the water was off for a while...whatever. The beds were kinda hard, that's ok, we didnt like to waste time sleeping anyhow! The maids came in every day and did a decent job. We tipped and they left nice towel animals :) Very nice view of the beach and water...nice hearing the waves at night and in the morning. Never had AC on once as the breeze off the water aimed right through the room. Nice size balcony to have drinks on and look out. All we really did was sleep there so it was good enough for us.

Bartenders were friendly as well as all staff for that matter. If the bartender hadnt heard of what your asking for, he'd go out of his way to try and accomodate you. There was probably 3 or 4 differnt guys workig the bar. Good guys. Tip a few peso here and there, they appreciated and showed it.

Restaurant had a fairly decent variety. Every night had kind of a different theme. Some nights were better than others, but for the most part food was about 7 or 8 out of 10. It's pretty much right on the beach. There's a snack bar over by the pool with your typical fries, nachos, burgers etc. Ate there a few times when chillin by the pool. It was good for afternoon growlies. We probably ate in different restaurants around town just as much at the hotel though, just cuz.

Nice pool, seemed clean, although we didnt swim in it. The grounds are kept up very nice and clean, and they do clean up their portion of the beach as well. The beach ( I think) is the nicest part of the whole Guayabitos playa. Waves are just big enough to play in...no rocks, just golden brown sugar sand.

It seems to be a popular spot for Mexican families, especially on the weekends. So if being around kids isn't your thing, this place likely isnt either. Although we never heard really anything at night, kids kind of take over the place during the day...like I say, more so on weekends and holidays.

There isnt really much as far as entertainment goes on site. We didnt care, as we entertained ourselves around town at night. There was a show of some kind going on one night now that I think of it. Sounded like Mariachi music...probably some dancers or something. We were too bagged that night to take part. It was kinda loud till 'round midnight, then I guess it ended. You dont have to go far on the beach to find typical beach entertainment. You can rent jet skis, banana boat ride, party boat, etc.

I dunno. I think you usually get what you pay for. Here you don't pay much, but you get...beautiful beach, a room to sleep in, endless drinks and food, lots of nice Mexican smiles, great people, a lot of bang for your peso in my opinion.
