We are on our first road trip to La Penita and are getting concerned about some of the road reports.We had originally planned on leaving hwy 15 ( the toll hwy ) north of Tepic and going on hwy 54 to San Blas and then head south to La Penita. Is this a good idea or are the roads in that area not in good condition? We are driving a Toyota Corolla that is very loaded and I have no desire to get stuck. We were going to bypass Tepic because of traffic there but is this not as bad as some have stated. We have Bill Bell's Road Log and I was thinking with it and being careful we should be able to navigate thru Tepic o.k. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Alick and Sharon
