Yikes guys! Grouchy McGrouches over here!
Why not tell us what you REALLY think? (sarcasm) I'm not familiar with the designated 'villian' of Marvel Boy, but I did some follow up on him through Wikipedia.org and...in regards to his character (pre existing) being "rewritten" or changed....C'MON! The guy has been in some facility being experimented on...You expect him to come out of the cube the same way he went in? Is that your beef? Cuz..I think it poses a rather interesting/exciting morality situation for the two teams when dealing with him. He's not a bad guy, but rather, he's being controlled.
And yes, the artwork....is a far cry from the regular illustrators of their respective books, but geez...give him some slack. Yes they look older and "larger" than previous renditions, but ease up guys....the characters' voices seem to still shine through...and considering that nearly every comic illustrator out there has some sort of deficiency problem when it comes to drawing 'youths' WITHOUT giant muscles and/or chest-ticles....I think this guy does a fine job.
And my last rebutle of the question brought up about "not knowing who jumps Nico until 3 panels later"...I knew it was Kate. Its easy to make that claim in the aftermath of it all, but if you look at the purple sleeve and finger nails, its not THAT tough to discern that the only other chick on the YA team is attending to Vision ....so that leaves Hawkeye. Ease up guys. Me thinks too much criticism is being dished out, and not enough gratitude that the crossover is even happening. Count yer blessings and lets not be the kids on christmas morning who yell at their parents for the wrong colored bicycle...mmmkay?
: Let me get the criticism out of the way
: first...Noh-Varr? Blah. Why throw another
: cosmic character into the mix? Hulkling,
: Xavin, and now another Kree? I don't buy it.
: Right now it just doesn't seem to fit. I am
: curious where the writer will take this
: though.
:
: Other than the crappy villian, I am really
: enjoying the portrayal of my fav marvel
: characters. The writing definitely blends
: Heinberg and Vaughan nicely. At first, I
: really didn't like the art. But the more I
: look at issue #2, I am beginning to enjoy
: it. Still not Cheung, but I think it will
: get better the more he gets used to drawing
: them all.
:
: Spoilers ahead....
:
:
:
: I also loved the very end when Xavin is
: introduced to Noh-Varr....Krak! Gotta love
: it.

: Lets get some discussion going people!
: I was a little bit leary, although still
: enthused about the crossover, after reading
: issue #1 but after reading issue #2...I'm
: beyond PSYCHED! The interactions between
: the characters was AHHH-mazing! SPOILERS
: AHEAD!!!!
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
:
: The skrulls fighting eachother, Billy and
: Karolina having a "you're dating a
: skrull?" exchange! Its all just sooo
: good! And the now designated 'villain' of
: the story! Whoa! I didn't see it coming but
: I cannot wait to see where it leads! I love
: love love it!!!
