An ongoing that conflicts with a Handbook trumps an a Handbook. A high profile in continuity mini vs. a panel that is admittedly incorrect in other areas of an ongoing, coupled with the aforementioned Handbook and an author's comments (re: Dan Slott's Initiative) make it less clear cut to be sure, --Previous Message--

Ronin was also inccorectly at the New Avengers wake in Captain America, Brubaker admitted that he hadn't gotten all of the info right at the wake. Ongoings where the author has made another irreconcilable mistake (Ronin being at the wake) and admitted the sequence had errors don't trump minis for any particular reason.

: It was Jeph Loeb that put Eli and Kate WITH
: the anti-Reg, and now seemingly tried to put
: it right, in the first place. Where
: previously published material like the Civil
: War Files, and the interviews with Dan Slott
: about the Initiative, had the team intact,
: the Fallen Son mini trumps the Cap
: appearance for me. But still, I wish Loeb
: hadn't messed with it in the first place.

: Regular ongoing trumps mini any day,
: especially when the ongoing has a years long
: plan by the likes of Brubaker, as opposed to
: Loeb who seems to pull stuff out of his ass
: under threat of deadline. Loeb's stuff
: sometimes makes a great read but afterward
: you start thinking of the million and two
: ways that it contradicts what went before
: and playing off it doesn't lead to good
: places. I myself prefer Young Avengers
: Disassembled in the absence of a writer who
: gives a crap about the characters.
