I guess only William knows for sure how much of a risk it was -- as he had to judge his position. Did William feel that his game with Hong was too difficult to overcome?
The free trip is yet to be determine (airfare to Vietnam may not be included as the prize winnings).
Yes, as it turns out, it is true that Hong did risk not finishing 3rd due to Terry Song drawing Richard Wang...this just adds to my impression that Hong wanted to give it his best shot/best play -- win, lose, or draw. Isn't that what true competition, sportmanship, and chess are all about?
