I was being a bit sloppy in my wording. What I should have said is that the presentation layer was accomplished by a combination of HTML and JavaScript. JavaScript writes to the DOM and thereby modifies the HTML (that's how you get the pop-ups). JavaScript is so much a part of modern HTML coding that I sometimes forget that technically they're separate entities.
Were you using Firefox 2 or Firefox 3?
