Careful Kevin.
1) One can easily argue that the neo-conservatism governments of the 1980s (Reagan, Thatcher, Mulroney) were in fact very positive infulences. One can easily argue that Neoconservative policies during that time ended the cold war.
2) For every example you can come up with of atheism bringing troubles into the world, I can name 5 done in the name of religion. As far as I can tell, the difference is mainly in the popularity of one view over the other.
It's not all black and white.
