On Windows, you can run Internet Explorer (Exploder as we like to call it...)
in KIOSK mode with the (guess what) K switch:
iexplore -k www.google.com
Notes:
- This can be done from the Start|run line
- you can use Alt-F4 to kill the IE session
- it is best to start somewhere specific
(like the example) otherwise your start page
is the beginning, and if it doesn't let you
go somewhere, well, see the previous note
KIOSK mode was meant so that you could set up
a sort of an appliance running IE... sadly there
are other ways to fool around with IE once it gets running...
