Corsham deserved the three points today. Ok they didn't create (or waste) as many chances as City did; however they clinically despatched the one gilt edged chance that came their way. Too often (especially in the second half) we were exposed at the back .... slack marking, large gaps in the back line, individual mistakes and so on. There were several occasions where better control and awareness from the Corsham attack could have proven very problematic for City.
Personally I'm not too concerned with the lack of goals .... if chances weren't being created then the panic button could be pressed. The goals will flow again, I have no doubt. What I felt was more concerning was the lack of cohesion defensively.
I felt Corsham were a solid unit and defended well in numbers ... one thing that demonstrated that was the fact the Dean Stamp was well marshalled and didn't have much of a sniff of goal.
In the big scheme of things today's result will not harm City; lessons were learnt and those will make us stronger in the future.
Anyhow Merry Christmas to one and all !!
