Mr Gingell could teach a politician a thing, or two!
Gingell Taunts Big Spending Leaders.
Cheeky jibe: Corsham Town boss Mel Gingell will continue to watch from the stand while he serves a 22 game FA touchline ban.
Mel Gingell has taunted leaders Truro City and said the pressure is on them to win the title.
The Corsham Town boss, who won December's manager of the month, is still cinfident his side can win the Toolstation League Premier Division after six wins from their last seven games.
And, with Truro spending £10,000 on Exeter City's Dean Stamp this month, Gingell believes they are too comfortable with their 10 point lead.
"I asked the chairman if I could have £10,000 for a player and he said he could offer me £10.00," Joked Gingell, whose side lie 3rd with games in hand, over 2nd place.
Truro must be under pressure if they are spending that kind of money. They are gearing up, expecting themselves to win it.
" but I am looking to win the league.
I know they are a long way off but if we turn them over again and they lose another one, who knows. " The league isn't lost at Christmas, but it isn't won either.
Craig Fullam, James Lye, Jamie Lyons and Tom Ingall are all missing for the trip to Street on Saturday, meaning Gingell wants his senior players to lead by example.
" I will be looking for leadership from Simon Gray " because he always gives 100,%" he said.
"I'll also give him the captaincy, because it is important to have a local lad as captain."
Gingell, who will recall Adam Taylor and Tom Smith, is wary that the hosts could cause problems to his depleted side.
He said: " I would like to go there for three points but the important thing is not to get beaten, especially in the position we are in.
" If we went there with the whole squad, I would be confident of turning them over but I might have to change the system."
It is Corsham's first game in three weeks but Gingell isn't concerned, with most of his side playing for Corsham Centre in the Chippenham Sunday League.
He said: "Althougb I have them training every week it is not the same, so I'm glad they've been playing."
