'the league is not as strong as last year', that's a rather sweeping and condescending statement.
We've lost Brdigewater and gained Truro City, who are more than an adequate replacement.
In any form of sport that can be measured, for example athletics, there is a constant measurable improvement at all levels of the sport, why should football and especially the Western League be any different.
You can argue that over the past 10 years the standard in the Western League has drop with the loss of teams like Tiverton, Taunton, Mangotsfield, Paulton etc., but there is no evidence to support your claim that the standard has drop from last season.
I personally have a lot of respect for the players that gave us some great memories over the last few years, it was just a shame that they choose to leave in the way they did. Only one of them to a higher standard.
The rest to clubs that are a long way behind Corsham in their development. Whilst they may talk of grand designs to progress up the pyramid, without the facilities and with every club in the area struggling to make ends meet I think they are dreaming.
Corsham's feet are firmly on the ground and I am sure the committee, as they have done in the past, would not let inflated egos dictate important decisions regarding the future of the club.
