We were lucky to lose 6-2. Some of the performances were disgraceful and it was quite obvious that 3 or 4 players just didn't want to be out there. Everyone knows who they are. Even from the start or when we got back into it at 1-1 they just didn't want to know. It is so frustrating as the other players tried to perform and most played well but it is imposible to carry players like that. Especially that many. However it's not the problem that players of this standard are playing for the reserves, it's that they are clearly not up to the job and they are still being picked each week. We have the base of a good team but are 3 or 4 players short. Players like Luke McFarlane, George Bently and Samy Lye want to play but arn't being asked. Why is this? I know Mel wants to keep this bunch of players together but I don't know why? No one wants to lose like that and we will every week with these players. It's nothing against these particular players. Their nice lads, it's just their not good enough for this level of football even if it is for the reserves. I'd like to hear people's honest opinion on this matter?
