Lets look at the points being discussed in this thread.
Crowds: I must admit that I was surprised at the attendance records published. I was quite sure that the numbers were down considerably on previous seasons. There are a large number of previously loyal regular supporters that are not now seen. Where have they all gone? Perhaps they have moved on to watch a lesser league down in Box. They would at least see goals and a winning team. Or perhaps they just do not want to pay good money to watch a losing side.
Forum: Yes we have a good Forum on our Website but where has all the discussions and contributors gone. Bremhill Bomber for instance, like him or hate him, has disappeared off the face of the earth. He did at least create banter between fans.
Team; Well what a season it has been. Some games it was hard to select a M.O.T.M. The performances at times left a lot to be desired and the games where we really competed were few and far between. This may be down to the fact that we do not pay the players and players will go to where thay can get the best deal. However looking at other clubs poor home support how do they manage to pay their players. What is the way ahead for next season. I applaud Trev for the way he has managed to put team out every week and even motivate the players to carry on knowing that the result would not be a happy. If we manage to again play in the Premier League next season by hook or by crook are we just going to struggle all the way through and be seen as an easy touch.
Programme /Website: Yes a very good publication. Over the season there has been quite a number of players who have come and gone. Some have just disappeared with no mention it. I appreciate that the programme is printed a couple of days before the match but surely these player movements in and out are known in advance and a mention could be
made of them. The website is also very good and a lot of information is put on it. Why does Trev not have a weekly news page to let us know his thoughts and feelings and player movements etc. Most fans only see him on match days and being approachable especially after a match where we have not performed well may not be the right time for him to enter into serious discussions with fans.
Well lets hope we perform our now regular Houdini trick and stay up and that next season brings better fortunes on and off the pitch. Roll on August
