I feel some of the points you have made are valid but some i feel need to be defended from a management point of view anyway.
Every home game i write something for the programme including my view on the games inbetween any new signings or players departing and injury news.as for the two players mentioned Owen i stated that he had left to sign for Calne Town Also i stated that Luke Holbrough was Injured at Ilfracombe and will be out for the season( he as also been to games watching)also i always thank the fans and ask the supporters to get behind the lads.For the Manor Farm game i was away and i had an issue with the wifi so unfortunatly i missed the early deadline (modern technology).I have to point out though to my knowledge this is the 1st time any other management has done programme notes. I feel having a page on the website giving weekly updates is a good idea and will gladly look into this.I do find the comment about using the pitch for a kick around while relatives watch the hardest one to take, surely more people watching is a good thing especially if some people wouldnt even go to lacock to watch us,I also feel that it is disrespectful to the players we have at the club. When Mel left there was only one 1st team regular left at the club( so there was more than a few) Matty Jenkins, and when Mel left it was on the thursday night before our 1st league game of the season not a lot of time to sort things out,most players had already signed for other teams so we had to do the best we could with what we had.
Melksham are all local boys now so there isnt a lot to get there, although i did manage to steal Jack Morris from under their noses, Calne were paying stupid money and that is where most of last teams squad went along with the players that went with Craig to Box.Devizes havent got anything better than us Bradford players all stay in bradford and get paid which leaves westbury not alot there.So that leaves local lads and under 18s to pick from and there is no doubt that we have struggled scoring this season but all the decent strikers around are on money which we havent got, I have tried all season to bring someone in but but they all wanted money so we had to try and get the best out of what we have.
The frustrating thing for me is that we have had some very good results this season and i feel if luke Holbrough,matty windle,Gary blackwood,where available all season and we had a striker that could of got us 15 to 20 goals adding with what we have now i dont think we would be down the bottom of the league so i dont think we are that far away from being a competitive western league side
We are always Grateful for the support we get we are lucky to have a good following and that goes for away games aswell, I am always available for anybodys questions and would be nice if it was face to face not on a forum. We will be at the reserves last few games starting with tonight so if you want to ask anything feel free to do so.
