Thanks for this redandwhite. It helps to throw a bit of light on things.
I appreciate your difficulties with the lack of money but this is why I feel this sort of input on the website or in the programme from you or a committee member is so essential. I think everyone wants the club to do well and since joining the Western League we have made a good stab at things. The years under Nobby were absolute magic and even since then we have done not too badly. That is what makes this season so depressing. Only six wins out of 33 and week after week without a goal, even against the poorest sides, is hard to stomach. The situation is made worse when help which I have tried to give has just been ignored. All of this coupled with the lack of information about who the players are and where they have come from as well as a perceived lack of any strategy to overcome our current problems just adds to the overall sense of aimless drift.
As for not going as far as Lacock to see an away game, I accept it might sound a bit harsh but before using up petrol and standing amongst the opposition fans I like to think there might be some chance of us getting a result of sorts. I had no confidence in this happening anywhere this season and as it turned out, with only one game left, we have managed the sum total of two points out of 16 games. I rest my case.
I will, of course, continue to support the club next season, at least at home. I am very concerned, however, that without someone to score goals we will struggle even in the first division and if we do stay up what is there to look forward to - another season like this? The club's strategy for next season is one thing which the committee must convey to all supporters before the season starts because there are other fans who, at the moment, are just as disillusioned as me.
