Hi John,
I would speak to your hygienist again,you want to make sure that your not doing anything you shouldn't be doing.
is it too far to make a visit? just pop in and tell her your concerns.

from my point of view I would say you don't touch that area at all until you have had you next appointment,that includes the teeth next to them..
brush your untreated teeth and gums with a very soft brush.

but seriously.speak to the hygienist direct.
