Hi, KT--I had a root canal on a molar that came out after five years, and I have an implant there. An Apicoectomy (sp?) wasn't presented as an option for me. It depends on the individual circumstances.

I have a root canal on a premolar for nearly five years so far, and it's been trouble free.

So, you never really know.
