Crowns on implants

Has anyone had the same surgeon who did the implants, do the crowns over implants as well? Are there major differences between "normal" crowns and crowns over implants? I am asking because I just had 2 implants for an upper premolar and molar and found out that my regular dentist who initially said will do the crowns, doesn't want to do such "delicate work" anymore, instead it will be my surgeon who will also take care of the crowns. Seems like my regular dentist changed her mind only after 2 months from when she has said she will do the crowns and only after I got the implants. Naturally ... I am kind of wondering if there could be something wrong with my implants and the regular dentist just doesn't want to get involved in that but, naturally, it's not like she will say that to me, since I went to the implant surgeon she recommended in the first place.
