Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?

I had porc veneers done on my teeth. i had a small overbite prior to having them put in. when you have them done are they able to correct the overbite? with the new veneers i feel like i am in need of braces. i have a difficult time speaking correctly. is this something that could have been corrected when they did the initial impressions?
