Looking for info on choosing a Cosmetic Dentist?
Re: Crowns on implants

Well, maybe I wasn't clear in my post. I know there are regular dentists, periodontists, etc that do both implants and crowns and thats fine. But I have never heard of an ORAL SURGEON who puts on the final crown. Usually the oral surgeons' expertise lies in surgical procedures and not restorative work like crowns. I only mentioned cosmetic dentist because it is perceived that they would pay more attention to the overall cosmetic appearance of the crowns.
When I went for consultations for implants the dentists that did NOT do the implants only the crownwork told me "make sure that the surgeon who places the implants uses a template because I want it in just the right position for the crown." So there is an advantage to finding someone who does both procedures, so there is no finger pointing.
