Fixed bridge - need advice!

For my two missing molars in the left lower jaw my dentist is recommending a 6 pt bridge which will have canine, first pre-molar, second pre-molar (two missing molars) and wisdom tooth. I thought he would be using only two teeth (wisdom and second premolar) as abutments. He says more support is needed coz of two molars. Is he right?
