My suggestion would be to seek another opinion or two. A dentist that has such contempt for a patient needing dentures surely will not do his/her best to make you as comfortable and functional as possible. Yes, dentures do have their own special set of issues or concerns and they are less than perfect but often when put up against what the patient had removed they perform quite well. To be a successful denture wearer takes work on both the dentists and the patients part. There has to be a good partnership. It is a tremendous physical and emotional change and one you must deal with even before the first tooth is extracted. Best wishes for a smooth transition, write with your questions- Barbara
