With luck, Vendela may spot this thread. If so, her comments may be especially interesting and helpful to your daughter, since she received dentures when she was just 18 — for a similar problem. Although she's not much older today, her outlook (along with Barbara's) is among the most positive and upbeat in this forum. For a sense of her perspective, just do a search for her name (at the bottom of this page). It will bring up a list of links to her messages in recent months.
